MEDIA RELEASE- Principal, Cornerstone at Pedregal Elementary School

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD)--The District is excited to announce that Dr. Amy Argento has been chosen as the new Principal at Cornerstone at Pedregal Elementary School. 

Dr. Argento comes to PVPUSD from the Torrance Unified School District with 20 years of experience spanning K-12 education as an elementary and middle school teacher, district TK-8 science resource teacher, and a California State Long Beach Lecturer. Amy has enjoyed working closely with our elementary teachers in PVPUSD as a science consultant for the last few years. Dr. Argento has her doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on STEM Leadership. She believes all students can learn at high levels and thrive in a safe school environment that supports academic and social-emotional wellbeing, while taking into consideration the unique needs of all students.

Amy said, "I am honored to join the families and staff at Cornerstone Elementary at Pedregal. Now, more than ever, working together to best support our students academically, socially, and emotionally is critical.  Connecting our school community in building relationships, maintaining strong lines of communication, and finding creative ways to engage our parents will support a strong team moving forward and into our future together.” 

Superintendent, Alex Cherniss commented, “We are very excited to have Amy join our leadership team. She brings with her a wealth of experience and leadership. She will be working with amazing kids, a great staff, and a very supportive parent community at Cornerstone.”
