(PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA) -- The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) announced that PVHS English teacher Ms. Jennifer Egan has been selected to serve as assistant principal at Palos Verdes Intermediate School.

Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss shared “It’s great to have an opportunity to promote from within our organization. Jennifer has served our school community for many years as a teacher and she will be a tremendous fit for our new PVIS assistant principal”.

For the past 18 years, Ms. Egan has proudly served the Palos Verdes High School community as an English teacher, AVID Coordinator, department lead, WASC team leader and assisted as a track and cross country coach. Jennifer also served the PVPUSD as the AVID District Director and as a teacher induction mentor coaching new teachers during their first two years in their position. During the past school year, Jennifer participated in the District’s Aspiring Leaders Institute where aspiring leaders engage in professional learning aimed at building their leadership capacity.

Ms. Egan stated, “After 18 years at PVHS, a little piece of my heart will always belong there. I feel lucky to have learned and grown so much in this amazing community. However, I couldn't be more excited to begin this new adventure at PVIS and am honored to join their Sea King community. I look forward to building lasting relationships with the students and staff for many years to come”.
